A Vintage Hardcover Book (measures 11 1/4" x 15 1/4" [29 x 39 cm]; 205 pages) (Learn More) Litho Media: A Demonstration of the Selling Power of Lithography, the 1939 book detailing how lithography affects advertising. Note that this book includes examples of magazine pages, menus, and more from prominent companies to demonstrate the effectiveness of different lithography formats. What is wonderful about this book is that has many "tipped-in" examples of the items they are talking about, including at least one large poster that is folded up, plus many things like calendars and heralds, small posters, etc. In addition to the tipped-in examples, there are also many printed examples. This is an insanely elaborate hardcover book, and surely very few examples of it were made, both because of its large size and weight, and because of all the work in creating the tipped-in examples in every book that was published. We have no idea how many of these were created, but likely few survive. We have never auctioned this book before. See our images for just some of the many cool images in this book. Important Added Info: Note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. Note: We have 17 images of the books in this set, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 17 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 7. Condition: good to very good. One of the tipped-in pages has an actual metal piece glued onto it (there was lithographed printing on the metal). The facing page has a die-cut cardboard box tipped onto that. At some point, the face of the metal became attached to the die-cut box, and those two are now stuck together, and each of those items tipped off of the pages they were glued to. This caused small damage on those pages, and of course, those two items are stuck together (we did not picture these pages). Other than this odd defect, which could certainly be restored, the book is in pretty nice condition (but bear in mind this defect when bidding on this book). Learn More about condition grades
