Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Australian One-sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Brasher Doubloon, the 1947 John Brahm romantic detective mystery blackmail crime film noir ("Some women can't stand cats... with me it's men!!"; "Based on the novel 'The High Window' by Raymond Chandler"; as usual in Chandler novels, detective Philip Marlowe is tasked to figure out why a priceless coin was stolen, but his client does not tell him what is going on; he gets involved with many odd people, and must figure out exactly what is going on while trying to finish what he was hired to do) starring George Montgomery (as Philip Marlowe), Nancy Guild, Conrad Janis, Roy Roberts, Fritz Kortner, Florence Bates, Reed Hadley, and Marvin Miller. Note that, because this film hasn't been seen since the early 60s, it has acquired a cult reputation that some people who saw it many years ago think it does not deserve! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. There is 2" of separation at the bottom crossfold. There are many small tears and minor creases in the borders. I would think most collectors would be happy with this poster as is, but of course any talented restorer could easily repair its minor defects while linenbacking and the poster would look magnificent.
