Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Harold Bell Wright's The Shepherd of the Hills, the 1941 Henry Hathaway Ozarks cowboy western ("Based on the Novel by Harold Bell Wright"; "America's most beloved drama of the human heart! In glorious Technicolor"; about a mysterious stranger who arrives in the Ozarks and gets involved with a beautiful young mountain girl who has a moonshiner fiance, who has vowed to kill his own father) starring John Wayne, Betty Field, Harry Carey Sr., Beulah Bondi, James Barton, Samuel S. Hinds, Marjorie Main, and Marc Lawrence. Note that this movie had been made in 1919 and again in 1928, but this John Wayne version is the best remembered one! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. Prior to linenbacking, the poster was in fair to good condition. The poster had somewhat tattered borders and the restorer painted over much of them to "even them out" (but this did not affect the small writing at the bottom of the poster). The poster had much damage across the top foldline and down the vertical foldline (and a lesser amount on the other foldlines), and the restorer did a pretty good job of repairing those areas, but the poster has a good amount of paint over those areas. It is interesting to note that the restorer apparently did not know that this movie was based on a novel by Harold BELL Wright (and he did not look at the credit at the bottom of the poster), for when he restored the author's name at the top center of the poster, it became "Harold BILL Wright"!
