An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Key Book Still (Learn More)

The Citadel, the 1938 King Vidor (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) Wales England coal mining romantic medical hospital doctor melodrama ("Great novel now powerful drama!"; "Powerful novel now a greater drama!"; "Additional Dialogue Emlyn Williams"; from the book by A.J. Cronin; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Robert Donat (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Rosalind Russell, Ralph Richardson, Rex Harrison, Emlyn Williams, and Joan Kemp-Welch. Note that A.J. Cronin was a doctor who had health problems in 1930. He wrote a book called "Hatter's Castle" in 1931, and it was so successful that he stopped practicing medicine and wrote a series of books, all centering around doctors, including "The Citadel" and "Keys of the Kingdom", all of which were made into movies!

Important Added Info: Note that this is a key book still that measures 8" x 10". There are many key book stills that measure 8" x 11" and have punch holes in the extra 1", but this is one of the key book stills that measures 8" x 10" exactly, and has no punch holes, and it has a stamp in the bottom blank border that reads "THIS IS A KEY SET PRINT". Many studios spent extra money to have their most special photos, the key book stills, either backed with linen or printed on a heavy paper, both of which enhanced their durability. They had an extra 1" at the left or top, with punch holes, because of how they were stored. Key book stills are far more rare than regular stills, which has increased their popularity among collectors, since only a few keybooks were manufactured per film, and a key book still is guaranteed to be authentic.

Condition: very good. There is a tiny piece of clear tape in the top blank border and some tiny creases around the edges.
