An Original 1946 (from the first release of this movie in France) Vintage Theatrical Folded French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 45" x 62 1/2" [114 x 159 cm]) (Learn More) Journey Together, the 1945 John Boulting English World War II (WWII) Royal Air Force military pilot training melodrama ("1946's Roughest! ..Toughest! ..Suspenseful... Sensation!"; written by John Boulting and Terence Rattigan; about three English friends wanting to become pilots in the RAF at the start of World War II; the movie follows them through their training; one of them can't make it as a flyer, and he is trained as a navigator instead, and he is bitterly disappointed, but he soon learns just how important the job of a navigator is, and he realizes that not everyone can be a pilot, but that everyone can help win the war) starring Edward G. Robinson, Richard Attenborough (in his fourth movie, and his first major role!), Jack Watling, David Tomlinson, and Stuart Latham. Note that this is one of those super patriotic movies made during the war to help everyone realize that they could help win the war, even if they weren't on the front lines or piloting a plane. Many top English stars participated, including some who were in the service while the movie was being made. The history of this is little known today except by major war buffs. The pilots for the RAF were trained at special flight schools in the U.S. and Canada, and the instructors were U.S. and Canadian civilians (and that accounts for major American star Edward G. Robinson playing the head of the flight school, because they did have Americans in those roles, and Robinson wanted to do his part to help in the war effort). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this French poster! Not only that, but movie paper of any kind from this movie is beyond rare (we have only auctioned a single Canadian lobby card, and that was two color, but nothing else until we were consigned this great French one-panel). Condition: good. The poster has some small brown stains scattered on the back of the part of the poster that was on the outside when it was fully folded, and those show through to the front. It has separation and small tears on parts of many folds, and a few in other areas, and someone put tape on the back of many of those. Learn More about condition grades
