An Original Vintage Theatrical Uruguayan Movie Herald (measures 4 1/2" x 6 3/4" [11 x 17 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) Skyline, the 1931 Sam Taylor New York City romantic love triangle family relationship Irish immigrant melodrama (based on the novel 'East Side, West Side' by Felix Riesenberg; a wild and implausible story of a young man whose mother tells him on her death bed that the man he thought was his father is not really his father; he meets a man in New York City who befriends him and he falls in love with the man's daughter; he also meets an older construction worker who gives him a job, and the construction worker realizes that the young man is his son!; the young man then falls for a bad woman, not knowing that she had an affair with his own father, who he still does not recognize!; after many complications, everything works out) starring Thomas Meighan, Hardie Albright, Maureen O'Sullivan, Don Dillaway (billed as "Donald Dillaway"; he had some credited roles early on, but never "caught on", but he ended up appearing in 98 movies, almost all uncredited!), and Myrna Loy. Note that the "good" young woman is played by Maureen O'Sullivan (in her sixth movie ever, and two movies before Tarzan the Ape Man, and she was 20 years old). The "bad" woman (who has an affair with both father and son) is played by Myrna Loy, and interestingly, Maureen O'Sullivan is billed over Myrna Loy, who had been in movies for a number of years by this time! Important Added Info: Please note that Uruguayan heralds, like Spanish heralds, were printed in large quantities, and then sent to individual theaters in Uruguay, and they would have the backs of them overprinted or stamped with their theater name and specific play dates. But because a movie might play in Uruguay for a period of a year or two (traveling from theater to theater), there is no guarantee that the date overprinted on the back of the herald is the same as the date that the herald was first printed (and the date that the movie first played in Uruguay). We strongly suspect that most movies did not reach Uruguay until a year or two after their first release in other countries, but we can't say for certain. Therefore, we don't list the date overprinted on the back of a herald as the date of the herald (or the date of the movie's first release in Uruguay) unless we know from some other source that the later year was when the movie first played in Uruguay. If it is important to you that the date on the herald is the same date as when the movie first played in its country of origin, then please look at our image of the back of this herald to see if there is a different date printed on it.
