Green prison crime melodrama ("Dramatic story of duty against love and loyalty!"; "Original story and screenplay by Ferdinand Reyher and John C. Moffitt"; a wild story of a former Russian Cossack who comes to America and becomes a cattle rustler, and he discovers he has an adult son that he never saw, and he takes him under his wing and they become great friends, but then the father is arrested, and the son joins the U.S. Army, but when the son is assigned to work near the prison, he develops a daring scheme to break his father out, which he does, but after the father escapes, he realizes it will ruin his son's life, so he knocks his son out and then intentionally kills himself, ensuring that his son will be exonerated and can live the good life he did not have) starring Akim Tamiroff, Leif Erickson, Frances Farmer, Lynne Overman, J.M. Kerrigan, and John Miljan. Note that cult star Frances Farmer did not have a large part in this movie (she played the father's niece whom the son falls in love with), but she is prominently billed and pictured on the posters for this movie. Important Added Info: This was printed by Associated Displays Corporation which was a company based in New York City. Before it was discovered by noted poster dealer/historian Walter Reuben, collectors did not know the name of this company (and thought it to be located in the Midwest), and it is often referred to as the "other company" (and we will continue to refer to it that way, since collectors know it that way). From 1936 to roughly 1941, this company printed its own one-sheets and lobby card sets (and a very few inserts, half-sheets, three-sheets, 40x60s and stills) for three major studio movies (Warner Brothers, Paramount and United Artists, but no other studios). The items almost always feature a tiny legal disclaimer and cast credits only. The posters and lobby cards are from the original release of the movie, and almost always have completely different artwork from the regular studio release. They did this by combining elements from different film scenes onto one poster or card. Sometimes, "other company" posters have images that are the equal of those from the regular studio release posters. Condition: good to very good. There is separation and tiny paper loss at the bottom two crossfolds and a stain in the bottom right corner. There are a few small tears in the foldlines and some pinholes around the edges.
