Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) A Regular Scout, the 1926 David Kirkland silent cowboy western starring Fred Thomson, Silver King (billed as "the horse with a personality"), Olive Hasbrouck, William Courtright, T. Roy Barnes, and Margaret Seddon. Note that star Fred Thomson was a major silent cowboy star (along with Tom Mix), but he is forgotten today, because he tragically died of tetanus just when sound movies started. Surely there should be a film biography of his life (perhaps Johnny Depp could play the lead role!). Also note that Fred Thomson's horse, Silver King, was very talented! He could count to 100 by tapping his hoof, and he could also identify colors (but these kinds of horse tricks have often been questioned over the years as being accomplished through help from the horse's owner or trainer). But there is no doubt that Silver King's talents contributed to Fred Thomson's success! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have made a digital scan that shows the glass image, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good to fine. some light smudges around the edges; pen writing and minor stains in the cardboard holder Learn More about condition grades
