The poster had extra creases and tears running down the center of the poster, with paper loss at the crossfolds and significant amounts of paper loss in the bottom 12" of the vertical foldline. Someone compounded the problem by putting wide tape on the back of the poster in that bottom area and on the back of the top of the center of the poster, and that tape bled through to the front. There were also tears and areas of paper loss in the bottom 12" of the vertical foldline to the right of the middle one, and there was paper loss in the credits in those areas and again tape was put on the back, and it bled through to the front. There were several tears in Sullivan's jacket above the end of the title and some creases and tears on parts of other foldlines. There were some stains and smudges scattered throughout the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have further restoration. Learn More about condition grades
