Robinson, Francis Lederer, Lya Lys, Henry O'Neill, George Sanders, Paul Lukas, Sig Ruman, Dorothy Tree, Lionel Royce, Henry Victor, and Hans Heinrich von Twardowski. Note that one of Warner Bros' executives was murdered by the Nazis in Germany in the 1930s, which caused that studio to be the first to cease distributing their movies in Germany. They also were the first major studio to make this openly anti-Nazi movie, which pulled no punches! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: How cool are these four photos? One of them shows a great homemade poster within an elaborate one sheet frame that was displayed on the street, one shows an interior wall elaborately decorated, one shows the doors to the theater with swastikas on them that read "Nazi spy exposed" and the last one shows a man hired to stand on the street wearing a sandwich sign that reads "The National Theater is unfair to the Nazi Party if they show Confessions of a Nazi Spy"! Note also that these are from a wonderful collection of photos (most measure 3.5x5.25, but some measure slightly smaller) that were taken by a man who worked at a large movie theater in the late 1930s and early 1940s. He created wonderful theater fronts and homemade posters (some that were displayed outside the theater and some inside the theater), and after he finished making his displays, he would take a picture of each and then he put them in a scrapbook. We have auctioned two groups of photos from this wonderful scrapbook, in single auctions. Now we are offering seven sets (in seven separate auctions) of between two and six photos each from the same scrapbook (sadly we are coming to the end of these!) It is very rare to find photos of original theater fronts and local theater displays from this time period! Condition: good to very good. The photos were stapled to an album page, and there are staple holes in the corners. There are glue stains on the back (see our images). Learn More about condition grades
