Gasnier marijuana marihuana pot weed drug thriller ("Marijuana drugs, Weed from the Devil's garden!"; "One moment of bliss, a lifetime of regret!"; "Hunting a thrill, they inhaled a drag of concentrated sin!"; "Wake up America! Here's a roadside weed that's fast becoming a national high-way!"; "Women cry for it, men die for it!"; "What actually happens!"; "Never before such exciting frankness"; "A Daring Theme!"; "Dope-created ecstasy avalanching into frightful perversions"; "Makes Beasts of Men & Women"; "Adults only") starring Dave O'Brien, Dorothy Short, Carlton Young, Kenneth Craig, and Lillian Miles. Note that drug and mature movies like these were extremely popular in "late night" showings at small town theaters throughout the 1940s, and they were often re-issued and re-named multiple times. In the case of this movie, it was re-issued under titles such as "The Burning Question" and "Tell Your Children", each time with lurid images and taglines! Important Added Info: Note that this movie was re-released in the 1970s as a staple of midnight theaters, and many posters exist from those showings. But nothing seems to exist from 1936 with the original title, and we have in the past sold a window card with this title "The Burning Question", but we have only twice before ever offered this wonderful one-sheet with its great image of a dope-crazed teen boy and a half-dressed teen girl, both with reefers in their mouths (and this poster is one of those past two, which has been re-consigned to us, so it is still only one of two examples of this poster we have ever auctioned)! Also note that this poster measures 28" x 42 3/4" [71 x 109 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had creases, tears, and areas of paper loss on parts of most foldlines and some creases, tears, and small paper loss in the borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed by a talented restorer, and you can see slight signs of the restoration, but from any reasonable viewing distance, the poster looks fantastic and will display wonderfully on its new owner's wall!
