An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28" x 41 1/4" [71 x 105 cm]) (Learn More)

The Original Kaztenjammer Kids Hans and Fritz, the circa 1920s poster for "a cartoon musical comedy with pretty girls and fun galore" ("Soft Pedal! Dod gast it! Dey are sleeping, maybe!"; "Book and Lyrics By David M. Wolff"). Note that the Katzenjammer Kids was created in 1897 by Rudolph Dirks for the Sunday supplement of William Randolph Hearst's New York Journal. It was based on Wilhelm Busch's Max and Moritz and became one of the longest living Sunday comic strips in American history. The series was enormously popular with children, but it had no greater fan than Hearst himself. Note that we don't know if this poster is for an animated movie or for a live action movie, and it is even quite possible it is actually for a traveling stage show! It is very difficult to find any information about this, or about other Katzenjammer Kids movie or theater productions. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster measures 28" x 41 1/4" [71 x 105 cm].

Condition: good to very good. The poster is somewhat brittle and there is a large vertical tear at top center through the title area extending into the text at upper center. There is a v-shaped tear and small area of paper loss at upper right in the black border that has been repaired with what appears to be glue and paper from the back and some paint from the front and there are several smaller tears and areas of tattering around the edges with some repaired with tape from the back.
