An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Key Book Still (Learn More) Greer Garson was an English actress from the 1930s and 1960s. In the late 1930s, she was appearing on stage in London (her first great success was "Street Scene"), and Louis B. Mayer saw her in "Old Music" in London in 1939, and signed her to star in MGM's Goodbye Mr. Chips, where she was nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award. Some of her movies include: Mrs. Miniver (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role), Julius Caesar, The Valley Of Decision (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Mrs. Parkington (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Susie Parkington), Madame Curie (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Marie Curie), Blossoms In The Dust (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Sunrise At Campobello (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), and many more! She passed away in 1996 at the age of 91. Important Added Info: Note that there is a linen material on the back of this deluxe still that extends to the left by 1". We think that it originally surely had an extra 1" of deluxe paper in that area, but that this added paper was lost at some point, and that this was a key book still. Note that this still has a stamp on the back in the form of a diamond that has the letters "TRR". One certainly might wonder who placed this stamp there and why. The answer is that the still (and many others we are auctioning in this set of auctions) come to us from a still collector who has collected for many decades, and long ago he began stamping the back of his stills with this stamp, and "TRR" is his initials! Each of the stills is stamped lightly, and the stamp does NOT affect the front of the still. He is a VERY advanced collector, and he has consigned many wonderful stills to us! Condition: very good.
