A Vintage English Hardcover Book (measures 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" [14 x 22 cm]; 484 pages) (Learn More) History of the War with America, France, Spain, and Holland commencing in 1775 and Ending in 1783, the 1785 - 1786 John Andrews English illustrated American Revolution historical books ("In four volumes with portraits, maps and charts"). This was British author John Andrews' chronicle of the American Revolution, compiled largely from newspaper articles and the proceedings of the House of Commons. In addition to some full-page images of relevant military people, there are also two large fold-out maps! Important Added Info: Note that this book WAS published in 1786! There is a receipt that was inside the book showing that a previous buyer paid $423.75 for the book! Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. Condition: fair to good. The cover is partially separated from the spine. There is much scuffing on the covers. The interior pages have darkening and small brown stains around the edges, varying from page to page. While the book is clearly in lesser condition, it seems amazing that it has survived at all, considering that it is 233 years old (and the fold-out maps are in generally nice condition; see our images)!
