An Undated (probably 1960s) Re-Release Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

School for Scoundrels ("or How to win without actually CHEATING!"), the 1960 Robert Hamer English black comedy ("Learn to gain weight by LOOSING scruples!"; "Based on the novels by Stephen Potter"; adapted for the screen by actor Peter Ustinov; about a decent young man who feels he always loses out to other men with low morals, until he enrolls in the College of Lifemanship, which teaches its students how to be corrupt, how to seduce women, and how to get ahead at any cost) starring Ian Carmichael, Terry-Thomas, Janette Scott, Alastair Sim, and Denis Price. Note that Janette Scott is best remembered for her starring role in "Day of the Triffids" in 1963, which was immortalized in the lyrics of the song from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" that says "And I really got hot When I saw Janette Scott fight a triffid that spits poison and kills." She divorced her first husband and married Mel Torme in 1966, which pretty much ended her career, as she quickly had two children.

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had slight darkening on the middle horizontal fold. It had an NSS number on the back of the upper right white background area (to the right of the word "GAMES"), which slightly bled through to the front. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
