An Original Vintage Theatrical Stage Play Window Card (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More)

Bird in Hand, the 1931 stage play production (of the work by John Drinkwater; "The Lakewood Players [a national institution] present John Drinkwater's delightful comedy Bird in Hand") starring Clifford Brooke (billed as "with Clifford Brooke as Mr. Blanquet 'who travels in sardines'"), Thurston Hall, Stanley Ridges, Jessamine Newcombe, Joyce Arling, Humphrey Bogart, Burke Clarke, and Harland Tucker. Note that Lakewood Theater was a major summer tryout for productions hoping for Broadway success. Actors who graced the stage at Lakewood included Humphrey Bogart, Betty White, Mickey Rooney, Milton Berle, Jessica Tandy and many others. Bogart worked in Maine theaters from the late 1920s to the very early 1930s and was a Lakewood Player in 1931.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this stage play window card! Of course, everyone on it and everything on it is virtually completely lost in the sands of time, EXCEPT for sixth billed Humphrey Bogart, who appeared in this stage play and received billing equal to his co-stars! It is surely one of the most rare Humphrey Bogart collectibles there is!

Condition: fair to good. The card has light staining scattered throughout with some tears around the edges and stains in the bottom 1-2". It was mounted to a piece of foamcore, but no restoration was performed.
