An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Scarlet Seas, the 1928 John Francis Dillon romantic seafaring shipwreck action suspense thriller ("Story by W. Scott Darling"; a sailor in the South Seas on a small boat meets a prostitute who has been kicked off of an island, and he agrees to take her to Shanghai; but their ship sinks in the Pacific, and the two of them and another sailor escape in a small boat; the hero kills the other sailor in a fight, and he and the girl are shipwrecked and fall in love; they are picked up by a passing ship, but then there is a mutiny on the ship!) starring Richard Barthelmess, Betty Compson, Loretta Young, James Bradbury Sr., and Jack Curtis. Note that this was thought to be a "lost" film (which means that no surviving copies exist) but a damaged print was recently found in Milan, Italy. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: good to very good. Someone cut out the bottom blank area where a theater would put its show dates (this is not that uncommon with glass slides). Learn More about condition grades
