Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Special Comic Book Poster (measures 11" x 17") (Learn More) Thor is a comic book superhero based-on-Norse-mythology, and created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, and Jack Kirby in 1962 for Marvel Comics. After making his debut in Journey Into Mystery #83, he was later given his own comic ("The Mighty Thor"). The Thor character has appeared in various television shows and films, and he is an integral part of The Avengers. Thor lives in Asgard, which is home to the Asgardians and other beings adapted from Norse mythology. The character is portrayed by Chris Hemsworth (and later Natalie Portman as Mighty Thor) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this special comic book poster measures 11" x 17" and is folded. Note that this comic book poster (and the other eight) comic book posters we are selling this week came from a man who worked at Universal pictures in the 1960s to 1980s. We have no idea what purpose these posters served, but he acquired them as samples that were sent to the Universal offices. Perhaps Universal was considering collaborating with Marvel Comics on creating movie versions of some of these, which would explain why he would have these posters. We don't know if any of these posters were ever sold commercially. The examples offered here may be extremely rare and could even be the only surviving examples of these posters! Condition: very good to fine. very minor creases along the foldline and top and bottom edges of the poster Learn More about condition grades
