An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More)

It Came From Beneath the Sea, the 1955 Robert Gordon ocean monster science fiction (sci-fi) horror thriller ("Out of primordial depths to destroy the world!"; "A tidal wave of terror engulfs the screen!"; "Primordial monster attacks the world!"; "Technical Effects Created by Ray Harryhausen") starring Kenneth Tobey, Faith Domergue, Donald Curtis, Ian Keith, and Dean Maddox Jr.

Important Added Info: Note that the back of this card was overprinted with a rectangular orange and black pattern border with interior dimensions of 8" x 10". This was commonly done in the 1950s so that old lobby cards could be re-used as "frames" for 8x10 stills. This IS an original lobby card, and since the overprinting on the back does not affect the front, most collectors consider it a minor defect. Also note that the card is definitely an original lobby card from 1955, but it was re-used during a 1969 re-release, and there is a 1969 NSS number stamped in the upper part of the left blank border. Most collectors also consider this a minor condition defect.
NOTE: Most lobby cards from before 1940 (and some from after that date) did not have individual lobby card numbers like later lobby cards (those printed after the advent of NSS in 1940) did. So we have arbitrarily assigned numbers to unnumbered lobby cards, only when we sell more than one from a set, so that there is a convenient way to tell different scenes apart. (Note that we do not use #1, because this is commonly used to signify the title card). The exception to this is sets of cards that did not have title cards.

Condition: very good. There is a re-release NSS number in the upper left blank border , and a tiny stain in the bottom left corner. The back of the card was overprinted with a border for a still (also see above). Other than the above unusual defects, the card is in really nice condition! Note that this lobby card has no tape whatsoever on the front or back, and has never had any restoration of any kind!
