An Original Vintage Theatrical Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Dempsey vs. Tunney, the 1926 glass slide promoting a boxing match between Jack Dempsey and Gene Tunney held at the Sesquicentennial Municipal Stadium on September 23, 1926 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania ("Championship at Philadelphia"; "Round by Round showing every blow will be shown here") and featuring both boxers in their fighting gear! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: good. There is a diagonal crack on the back pane running from the bottom left corner to the top right corner. Part of the tape in the left of the top border is missing. Certainly, one could remove the tape and the cracked back pane and replace it with a perfect back pane from a different slide and then re-tape the slide and it will be wonderful!
