An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Irvin S. Cobb's Judge Priest, the 1934 John Ford Kentucky country homespun small town political comedy ("Enough laughs to make your head spin!"; "Enough laughs for every day of the year"; "You can judge for yourself - but Will Rogers says 'Judge Priest' is my best!"; about a small town judge named Billy Priest, based on the character created by Irvin S. Cobb,) starring Will Rogers (in the title role), Tom Brown, Anita Louise, Henry B. Walthall, Rochelle Hudson, Stepin Fetchit, and Hattie McDaniel

Important Added Info: Note that this really cool candid still shows John Ford and Irvin S. Cobb sitting on a porch in rockers with stars Will Rogers and Henry B. Walthall. Stepin Fetchit is also present, but he didn't get a rocker and had to sit on the porch, indicative of the racial prejudices of that time. There is printing on the back explaining about what is on the front, but it is covered by a thin material that was part of the restoration (but you can read what is under the material by holding the still to a light).

Condition: very good. The still's right blank border was neatly trimmed off, and otherwise, the still was in excellent condition. Someone restored the missing right blank border by attaching a thin strip to that area and putting a thin linen-like material over the back of the entire still, to hold it in place. Only blank white paper was missing, and the still displays well (see our image).
