An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Key Book Still (Learn More) Hurd Hatfield (born William Rukard Hurd Hatfield) was an actor from the 1940s to the 1990s. He is best remembered for his starring role in The Picture of Dorian Gray. Some of his other movies include: Joan of Arc, Tarzan and the Slave Girl, King of Kings (as Pontius Pilate), and El Cid. He passed away in 1998 at the age of 81. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Hurd Hatfield! Note that this is a key book still that measures 8" x 10". There are many key book stills that measure 8" x 11" and have punch holes in the extra 1", but this is one of the key book stills that measures 8" x 10" exactly, and has no punch holes, and it has a stamp on the back that reads "THIS IS A KEY SET PRINT". Many studios spent extra money to have their most special photos, the key book stills, either backed with linen or printed on a heavy paper, both of which enhanced their durability. They had an extra 1" at the left or top, with punch holes, because of how they were stored. Key book stills are far more rare than regular stills, which has increased their popularity among collectors, since only a few keybooks were manufactured per film, and a key book still is guaranteed to be authentic. Note that our consignor purchased a collection of autographed stills that were collected by Leonard Sorgi, who was a unit manager for ABC for shows like The Soupy Sales Show, The Jerry Mahony Show, and many others. He was also Unit Manager for the Academy Awards for a number of years, and during his long and varied career, he met many celebrities and obtained autographs from them in person (often personalized to him).
