An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Escape!, the 1930 Basil Dean English prison escape crime melodrama ("Over grim walls... back to a world of women"; "John Galsworthy's amazing drama of hunted men"; about an English World War I hero, member of the upper class, but he gets in a fight with a policeman and the cop dies, and he is sentenced to five years of hard labor, and he escapes, and spends the rest of the movie on the run) starring Gerald du Maurier, Edna Best, Gordon Harker, Horace Hodges, Madeleine Carroll, and Mabel Poulton. Note that this movie was the first joint production between Associated Talking Pictures (an English company) and RKO, under the new title of "Associated Radio Pictures". Had it been made by someone like Alfred Hitchcock, it might have been a masterpiece (and it predated "I Am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang" and was based on a story by John Galsworthy). But it stars Gerald du Maurier, who was a major English star of the 1920s, and Mabel Poulton came off poorly in this film (sound was not their friend), and the movie is forgotten today, as are its stars, except to film buffs.

Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: very good to fine. There is slight border wear and slight scuffing in the bottom of the second "E" of "ESCAPE". Otherwise, the card is in nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
