An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 18" [36 x 46 cm]) (Learn More) The Ox-Bow Incident, the classic 1943 William A. Wellman anti-lynching cowboy western ("Shocking - as the lash of a whip across your face!"; "It'll chill your blood with terror... and make it boil with fury!"; "It took nerve to make it! You'll need nerve to 'take it'!"; "Tough! True! Terrifying!"; based on the novel by Walter Van Tilburg Clark; about a group of men deciding whether or not to lynch three suspected murderers and cattle rustlers; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Henry Fonda, Dana Andrews, Mary Beth Hughes, Jane Darwell, Anthony Quinn, William Eythe, Harry Morgan, Frank Conroy, Paul E. Burns, George Meeker, Almira Sessions, and Harry Davenport. Note that in the book that this film is based on, the protagonists voted to lynch the criminals in a different fashion, and the contents of Dana Andrews' letter are never revealed. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned this window card (which has a completely different and superior lynch mob image to that of the one-sheet) before! Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14" x 18" [36 x 46 cm]. Also note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: fair. The card has pinholes and stains around the edges, with a few tears. The top left corner was detached and re-attached with tape from the back. There is an irregular 7" tear near the center of the card that enters the man's chin and goes down the center of the body into his pant leg (see our image). Of course, this great and extremely rare card can be restored, but bear its defects and the cost of restoration in mind before placing a bid on it. Learn More about condition grades
