An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Three-Panel Movie Poster (3p; measures 55" x 113 1/2" [140 x 288 cm]) (Learn More) Il Cristo Proibito (released in the U.S. in 1953 as "The Forbidden Christ" and "Strange Deception"), the 1951 Curzio Malaparte Italian post World War II (WWII) murder mystery revenge melodrama (about a poor Italian man, Bruno, who returns to his village after being a prisoner during World War II, and he discovers that his brother was shot by Germans after being betrayed by an informer; he sets out to avenge his brother's death, and a man confesses to him that it was him, and Bruno stabs him, but as he dies, he confesses that he was lying, trying to get Bruno to give up on his revenge!) starring Raf Vallone (in his seventh movie!), Elena Varzi, Alain Cuny, Rina Morelli, Philippe Lemaire, and Anna-Maria Ferrero. Apparently, this entire movie was intended as an allegory against war in general, and the futility of it. It is almost completely forgotten today except by major film buffs, and any posters from any country are incredibly rare. Artist: Enrico De Seta Important Added Info: Note that this poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this Italian movie, is incredibly rare. It is not only the only Italian poster we have ever auctioned, but it is also the only poster from any country (we have auctioned stills from the U.S. release and a German program, but nothing else)! Also note that this Italian three-panel was printed in 3 sections designed to overlap. Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
