An Original Vintage Unfolded Special Poster (measures 14" x 21") (Learn More)

International Air Races, the 1923 poster advertising a major airplane aviation event in St. Louis, Missouri, on October 1-3, 1923 ("Over 200 miles per hour"; "Aeronautical Exhibition"; "Aero Congress"; "Air Institute"; "Veiled Prophet"). Note that along with the poster is a letter from the Missouri Historical Society giving background about the poster which includes information that Charles Lindbergh showed up at the airshow!

Important Added Info: Note that this is a special poster which was created in 1923 for a plane flying competition that was held in St. Louis in October of that year. Included with the poster is a letter which is from the Missouri Historical Society and describes the poster, and also a Photostat of a page from a book that shows this poster. The letter is 8 1/2" x 11" and printed on both sides, and we have an image of the poster, along with an image of each side of the letter, and an image of the Photostat, which also measures 8 1/2" x 11". Note that the images are NOT to scale! The poster is 14" x 21", and the other three images are 8 1/2" x 11".

Condition: good. The poster has darkened across the top and down the right borders of the poster, and there are several small tears in both borders (someone put conservation tape on the back of most of both of those borders). Otherwise, the poster is in pretty nice condition!
