An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81") (Learn More)

Horrors of War, the 1940 World War II (WWII) military anti-war documentary ("True! Authentic! Uncensored!"; "Filmed on the battle fields of warring nations"; "Can Germany be conquered?"; "Sherman said - War is Hell. See for yourself"). Apparently, this was a 51-minute documentary that was made to try to get the U.S. to NOT enter World War II. The producers of the movie showed outrageous images of war atrocities, some from previous documentaries, but some from movies which re-created the actual events, and this film did not distinguish between the two. Apparently, the makers of the movie thought that showing atrocities would help rally people against supporting the U.S. entering World War II, and they didn't even bother with much of any narration, letting the images speak for themselves (and this was especially confusing, since one could not tell what was real and what was re-created). Of course, a year later, the Japanese attacked the United States, and it is unlikely the movie was again shown publicly after that time, at least not until after World War II was over, and maybe not even then. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: good. The poster had creases, tears, and areas of paper loss on parts of many foldlines, and some smudges and scuffs in the white background areas. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was fairly well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Also, after the poster was backed, it was roughly handled, and there are creases around the edges of the poster, both in the borders of the poster and in the linen.
