A Linenbacked German Music Concert Tour Poster (measures 16 1/2" x 23 3/4" [42 x 60 cm]) (Learn More) The Mothers of Invention, who were an American rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) band from 1965 into the 1970s. Originally a band called "The Soul Giants" (with Ray Collins, David Coronado, Roy Estrada and Jimmy Carl Black), they invited Frank Zappa to join the band in 1965, which he agreed to do if they would perform his original music, and on Mother's Day, they changed their name to "The Mothers", which, for legal reasons, was quickly changed to "The Mothers of Invention". They are one of the best remembered bands of the 1960s. Artist: B. Brummear Important Added Info: Note that this poster is for the first International Tour the band went on in the 1960s. This German poster was produced for that tour, but we were unable to pin down the exact date of it (or even the year). This is the original poster from that tour and NOT any sort of reproduction or later printing. If anyone knows more about any of this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this poster contains artwork of unclothed women, so we have placed a white bar over those areas, for those who are bothered by such images. The poster had paper loss and pinholes in the corners, with a few pinholes, tape stains, and tiny bits of paper loss around the edges.
