An Original 1935 (from the first release of this movie in Spain) Vintage Theatrical Spanish Movie Herald (measures 3 1/2" x 5" [9 x 13 cm]) (Learn More)

Sonnenstrahl (released in the U.S. as "Ray of Sunshine"), the 1933 Pal Fejos Austrian/German romantic melodrama (set in Austria in 1933, about a depressed young man about to commit suicide by drowning himself in the Danube, but then he meets a young woman planning to do the same thing, and he convinces her not to do it, and of course, they fall in love) starring Annabella, Gustav Frohlich, Paul Otto, Hans Marr, and Walter Brandt. This was a German version of this movie (there was also a French version). Universal did the same thing with "Dracula" in 1931. They filmed the movie twice, once in English, and once in Spanish, with two entirely different casts, U.S. actors for the English version and mostly Latin actors for the Spanish version, obviously for release in Spanish speaking countries, and the same was done with this movie, except it was released in German and French (the French version, "Gardez le sourire" also starred Annabella and Gustav Frohlich, with different French actors playing the other parts). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that this movie was made in both French and German. Yet this Spanish herald says "EN ESPANOL". So there COULD have been a third Spanish language version, but we can find no record of that, so we think it is much more likely that this is the German version that has been dubbed into Spanish. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that when Spanish heralds have printing on the back, we picture both sides, but when they are blank on the back, we only picture the front.

Condition: good. There is scuffing in the center of the image.
