An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

High Toned, the 1930 Paul Powell black African American comedy musical short ("Two great stage comedians"; "Featurette with All-Colored Cast") starring Ford Washington Lee and John William Sublett (billed together as "Buck & Bubbles"). Note that this short was originally distributed by Pathe, and then was distributed around the country on a "states rights" basis by Supreme Distributing Co. We have only seen one one-sheet from the latter, and we have never seen anything on this movie from Pathe, as first release movie paper from this short is incredibly scarce.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster is not from the very first Pathe release, but from when this movie was distributed on a states rights basis (see above). It is the very first movie paper item we have EVER had from this obscure short!

Condition: fair to good. The poster measures 27" x 41", but it was printed slightly off center, with the image at a slight tilt! This is sometimes seen on lobby cards or stills, but almost never on one-sheets. This resulted in an uneven left and right border. The poster also has tears, paper loss, and separation along all the folds, and some small brown dot stains scattered in parts of the poster. Bear in mind the condition of the poster, and the cost of restoration, before placing a bid.
