An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Belgian Movie Poster (measures 24 1/2" x 31" [62 x 79 cm]) (Learn More) Sally, the 1929 John Francis Dillon New York City Broadway stage romantic love triangle ballet dancing musical ("From Florenz Ziegfeld's Musical Comedy by Guy Bolton Author and Jerome Kern Composer"; "Photographed by TECHNICOLOR PROCESS"; about a poor girl who dreams of being a famous dancer, and she works odd jobs until she gets her big break, and has many male friends, including a down-and-out former Grand Duke of Czechoslovakia, who is now a waiter, and who is played by a very young Joe E. Brown) starring Marilyn Miller (in the title role as Sally), Alexander Gray, Joe E. Brown, Pert Kelton, Leon Errol, and T. Roy Barnes. Note that this movie was originally a Broadway play that started in 1920, and was produced by Flo Ziegfeld (which explains why he makes an appearance in the movie!). It was first made into a movie in 1925 starring Colleen Moore. That movie was remade four years later as this musical with Marilyn Miller in the lead role, reprising the role that she had created on Broadway nine years earlier (and it was Miss Miller's first movie)! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 24 1/2" x 31" [62 x 79 cm]. Also note that this is a rare "pre-War" Belgian poster. Prior to World War II, Belgian posters were much larger than the ones from after the war, and they are extremely rare (because during WWII, there was a massive paper shortage in Belgium, and they took virtually every poster and map, and printed new posters on the backs of them!). Finally, note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this is commonly done with Belgian posters, similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of U.S. window cards). There are some creases and scuffs scattered throughout the poster (more so along the vertical fold and around the edges). There are a few 3/4" and smaller tears around the edges of the poster. The poster is otherwise in pretty nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
