Le Mile De Jules Ladoumegue (literally translates to "The Mile of Jules Ladoumegue"), the 1932 Jean Lods French running track-and-field sports documentary short featuring Jules Ladoumegue. This was a 39-minute film about this legendary French distance runner. He is forgotten today, except by major track and field buffs, but at his peak (1927 to 1931), he was the best 1,500 meter and miler in the world, being the first ever to run under 3:50 in the 1,500 and under 4:10 in the mile. He was known for his extremely long stride, which early in his career caused him to move down from 5,000 meters to 1,500 meters. He came in second in the 1928 Olympics in the 1,500, and he was a very heavy favorite to win the 1932 1,500 meter Olympic gold medal in Los Angeles, but not long before he was banned from running for having accepted money (just as his idol Paavo Nurmi had been similarly banned). This film was made in 1932, when he was at the height of his career. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
Artist: Roland Coudon
Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this French movie!

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tears and areas of paper loss on parts of some folds, with some stains scattered in the light background areas. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
