Date Sold 12/12/2017Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original 1961 (from the first release of this movie in Japan) Vintage Theatrical Folded Style A Japanese "B2" Movie Poster (measures 20 1/4" x 28 5/8" [51 x 73 cm]) (Learn More) The Magnificent Seven, the classic 1960 John Sturges cowboy western ("The Magnificent One!"; "They were seven... And then they fought like seven hundred..."; "The Matchless Seven...The Might Seven 'The Magnificent Seven'!"; "Seven... and they fought like seven hundred!"; a remake of the Japanese Akira Kurosawa classic, "The Seven Samurai"; about a Mexican village terrorized by bandits and they hire seven professional gunfighters to defend their town, by literally giving them everything they have of value) starring Yul Brynner (as "Chris Adams"), Eli Wallach (as "Calvera"), Steve McQueen (as "Vin"), James Coburn (as "Britt"), Charles Bronson (as "Bernardo O'Reilly"), Horst Buchholz (billed as "Introducing Horst Buchholz"; as Chico), Robert Vaughn (as "Lee"), Brad Dexter (as "Harry Luck"), Rosenda Monteros (as "Petra"), and Vladimir Sokoloff (as the "Old Man") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned this poster once before, and it sold for $454, which is much more than the style B poster sold for (which we also only had once before). Surely this is because this poster has a wonderful image! Not only do you get a great close up of Yul Brynner holding his rifle with his dangling cigarette, but you also get all of the Seven lined up at the bottom of the poster, and several scenes from the movie in the background! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. The poster was folded like a U.S. one-sheet, but it has laid flat for a long time, and the folds are greatly diminished. It has a faint circular foreign stamp in the lower right of the image (in the background between the rifle and the girl). It has creases around the edges. It once had a snipe on the back of the bottom border that was removed, causing slight surface paper loss in that area. Someone performed slight touch up to the top of the poster in the background area. This rare and excellent poster will display really well on the new owner's wall! Learn More about condition grades
