A 1951 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded Kraftbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 26 1/4" x 40") (Learn More) White Pongo, the 1945 Sam Newfield albino gorilla horror adventure thriller ("A beast with human instincts!..roamed the jungle!";"Jungle monsters battle to the death as a woman watches in horror"; "Junge monsters battle to the death as a woman watches in terror!") starring Richard Fraser, Maris Wrixon, Gordon Richads, Al Eben, Lionel Royce, Michael Dyne, George Lloyd, and Ray 'Crash' Corrigan (in the title role as White Pongo). Note that Crash Corrigan made a REALLY wise investment in the 1930s, when he bought a "gorilla suit". In many of the movies in the 1940s where there is a fake gorilla, it is played by Crash Corrigan, no doubt because he could supply the suit! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is the 1951 re-release from Madison Pictures of this wacky classic, and that it was printed from the same plates as that of the original PRC release, and that only the studio logo was changed. Also note that this one-sheet has been trimmed and it now measures 26 1/2" x 38". This poster has been kraftbacked, which means it was backed onto a brown paper soon after it was printed (this process is called "kraft-backing", and posters with it are called "kraft-backed"). Condition: poor. A small amount has been unevenly trimmed from the edges of the poster. There is discoloration throughout the poster from being kraftbacked and exposure to moisture. There is much separation along the foldlines (crudely repaired with cloth and various kinds of tape from the back). It may be possible that a professional restorer could restore and linenback this poster and it would look great but please do NOT bid on this poster unless you are willing to accept its defects!
