A PARTIAL REPRODUCTION Folded Japanese Two-Panel "STB" or "Tatekan" Movie Poster (2p; measures 20" x 57" [51 x 145 cm]) (Learn More) Donzoko (released in the U.S. in 1962 as "The Lower Depths"), the 1957 Akira Kurosawa Japanese poor-people-and-how-they-survive romantic melodrama (based on the play 'The Lower Depths' by Maxim Gorky; Kurosawa took Maxim Gorky's play and transplanted it to Japan, where the thieves and beggars have similar problems to their Russian counterparts) starring Toshiro Mifune, Isuzu Yamada, Kyoko Kagawa, Ganjiro Nakamura, and Minoru Chiaki NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the person who owned this poster only had the top section, so they obtained a REPRODUCTION of the bottom section (the printing on the bottom section repro is pixilated and it is printed on paper that is clearly not the same as the top section)! Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept that the bottom half of the poster is a REPRODUCTION! Finally, note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: fair to good. There is writing on the front of the top section of the poster at right and there is discoloration throughout that section and tattering around the edges (repaired with tape from the back). There is creasing throughout the top half of the poster. The bottom REPRODUCTION part of the poster is in generally nice condition (aside from the pixilated printing).
