An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) The Country Flapper, the 1922 F. Richard Jones silent romantic love triangle country bumpkin rural comedy (Gish is not really any kind of flapper, she is a small town girl who tries to win over her boyfriend and get him to marry her) starring Dorothy Gish, Glenn Hunter, Mildred Marsh, Harlan Knight, and Tom Douglas. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that in the days immediately following World War I, there were a huge amount of returning veterans who could not find jobs, and labor was cheap and plentiful. This likely explains why the studios began hand-coloring lobby cards (and a few larger posters), and they also would sometimes have glitter applied to the letters of the title card! This was incredibly time consuming, because it was done to every single card one by one (in the case of the glitter, the person would apply glue to the letters, then shake glitter over the card, and let it dry, just as we all did in kindergarten!). As economic conditions improved in the country, and as printing technology also improved, these methods of decorating cards vanished! Note that this poster has never been folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: good. The poster was never folded. It has stains around the edges, with paper loss in the right blank corners. The poster was hand colored, and some of the blue has smeared (in the top of the image and in the bottom left, where it ran into the border). Learn More about condition grades
