A Belgian Anti-Socialism Poster (measures 31 1/4" x 46 1/4" [79 x 117 cm]) (Learn More) Moscou Attaque (literally translates to "Moscow Attack"), the circa 1932 Belgian anti-socialism poster promoting anti-communist events to take place in Brussels, Belgium and Paris, France which featured speakers from around the world talking about the threat of Soviets. This poster features Fernand Francois art of a bestial Soviet soldier holding a bloody weapon and looming over the world. Note that we found information about a Belgian art portfolio with the same name and date, that features 12 anti-Soviet illustrations by Fernand Francois, and we think it is likely that this portfolio was made available at these events. Artist: Fernand Francois Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been mounted onto a "Chartex"-like material (we are not 100% certain it is Chartex, but if not, it is something very similar. Chartex is a backing paper that is a linen-like paper, similar to the material you line drawers with. It serves its function well in that the poster is preserved, which is why many restorers other than movie poster restorers use it, but it is very difficult to impossible to remove from the back of the poster. SO DO NOT BID ON THIS POSTER UNLESS YOU CAN ACCEPT THAT IT LIKELY CAN'T BE REMOVED FROM ITS BACKING, AND WILL NEED TO BE KEPT AS IT IS (although it is not harming the poster, and it enables it to be displayed). Condition: good to very good. The poster had some wear on the folds and many creases scattered throughout. it had tape stains in the top and bottom borders. It was mounted onto a Chartex-like material (see above), which has lessened how distracting the many creases are, but they are still noticeable, so bear them in mind and look at our super-sized image before bidding on this rare poster.
