An Undated (probably 1950s) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian One-Panel (known in Italy as a "2 Fogli") Movie Poster (1p; measures 39" x 55" [99 x 140 cm]) (Learn More) Jungle Siren, the 1942 Sam Newfield jungle adventure romantic comedy starring Ann Corio, Buster Crabbe, Evelyn Wahl, Milton Kibbee, and Paul Bryar. Note that Ann Corio was a famous stripper at Minsky's Burlesque Theater in New York City. In 1940, she was said to have been paid $1,000 a week, plus a percentage of the gross! She appeared in a handful of movies in the early 1940s, and this was one of them. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that when this movie was advertised in the U.S. in 1942, it had a large cheesecake image of Ann Corio (who was a well known stripper in the United States), and a small image of Buster Crabbe, whose star was fading. But when the movie was released in Italy, where Corio was not known, an unknown poster artist created a great jungle image, and Buster Crabbe was top billed above Evelyn Wahl (with a notation that she was the "Female Tarzan") and Corio was not mentioned! Condition: fair to good. The poster had several tears in the middle left and someone put masking tape on the back of them (there are also smaller tears in the middle right, that were repaired the same way). There was paper loss in the lower right corner of the image background, and someone glued a piece from another poster to the back of that area, and what was on the piece does not match the background there, but it is not too noticeable, although the glue has stained that area (see our image). There are also pinholes, tears, and stains around the edges. In spite of the above defects, the poster displays fairly well just as it is. Learn More about condition grades
