Date Sold 7/1/2018 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of approximately 100 unfolded mini posters from the 2012 re-release of Raiders of the Lost Ark. If you have ever wondered about "mini" posters that we auction (and others auction), and where they come from, this auction explains a lot! This auction is for 100 of these that were sent shrink-wrapped to a specific theater and an employee at the theater took them home unopened. In the shrink wrap is a letter from the studio telling the theater to give out one mini poster each to everyone who buys a ticket for the movie, until they run out! Obviously, some theaters went to the trouble of doing this (for this and other movies), and others did not, which explains why groups of mini posters sometimes turn up. The winner of this auction gets the shrink-wrapped posters with the studio letter. Of course, Raiders of the Lost Ark is the classic 1981 Steven Spielberg (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) treasure hunting action adventure fantasy thriller ("Indiana Jones - the new hero from the creators of JAWS and STAR WARS."; "Story by George Lucas and Philip Kaufman"; "Screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Harrison Ford (as Indiana Jones), Karen Allen, Paul Freeman, Ronald Lacey, John Rhys-Davies, Denholm Elliott, Alfred Molina, and Tutte Lemkow. IMPORTANT! The lot contains 100 identical posters, so we have only pictured one (because they are all shrink-wrapped together), but the winner of this auction receives all 100 posters!
