An Original Vintage 8" x 10" (8x10) Publicity Photo (Learn More) Ruby Keeler was an actress from the 1930s to the 1980s. She was married to Al Jolson, and their marriage was partially the basis for the several versions of "A Star is Born" and "The Jolson Story" (but Keeler refused to allow the producers to use her name). Some of her movies include: Gold Diggers of 1933, Footlight Parade, 42nd Street, Wedding Planner, That's Dancing, and Dames. She passed away in 1993 at the age of 83. Important Added Info: Note that this is a type of publicity photo that companies in the 1930s created and theaters would order them by the hundreds or thousands, and pass them out in place of heralds on the street, or they would give them as souvenirs to people after they watched the movie. They are printed on a paper that is not photo paper, and are somewhat glossy on both sides. The photo was made at the time of the first release of the movie. Condition: very good to fine.
