A 1958 Re-Release (re-titled "Should Parents Tell?" for this re-release) Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Story of Bob and Sally, the 1948 Erle C. Kenton pseudo-documentary sexploitation movie ("It's boldly frank!"; "It's humanly true!"; "It's more than just a story!"; "It's life itself"; "Adult entertainment"; "The passionate problems of today's youth who forget about consequences and defy convention"; "Alcohol will not solve his problem"; "Just how much truth can you stand concerning... sex... marriage... alcoholism"; "Please remember... with all its impact there is a pathos and tenderness that will haunt you for weeks! The most revealing picture ever filmed!"; "Sorry... shown to separate audiences only!"; "See how sexual incompatibility and 'one too many' wrecked this marriage!") starring Rick Vallin, Gloria Marlen (in the title role as Sally), Ralph Hodges (in the title role as Bob), Mary Bear, and Jean Andren. As was typical with these pseudo-sex-documentaries of the time, the movie was shown with a lecture from a prominent doctor, to lend the movie an air of respectability (and to allow it to be shown in small towns). The lecture was advertised as "Extra! Stage in Person" Roger T. Mills, ("The Man Who Calls a Spade a Spade"). This poster must have been for a drive-in movie theater (likely this was a way to get around having to have separate viewings for males and females, and it advertises "SHOWN FOR THE FIRST TIME To Adult Male and Female Audience Together"), for it says at the bottom "Bring your own family group and see it in the privacy of your own car". I wonder how many families went to see this sex movie together! If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was created by a local theater using a silkscreen process and was not produced by the NSS or a studio. Condition: fair to good. There are many crease and scuffs scattered in various areas throughout the poster. There are tears of varying lengths scattered in some areas. A few of the tears or other defects as described above are repaired with tape from the back. Learn More about condition grades
