An Original Vintage Movie Script (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], 160 pages) (Learn More)

Gidget, the classic 1959 Paul Wendkos teen surfing sports romantic comedy ("Watch out Brigitte... Here comes Gidget!"; "The joyous movie based on THAT book!"; "Be the first to fall in love with Gidget"; "Dick Clark goes for Gidget!"; "'Hey gang! If you're in the market for great entertainment, go see Gidget! It's all about a cute teen and her fabulous summer with the surfboarders at Malibu Beach. It's the first movie I've ever endorsed this way - and I don't think you'll find a better movie anywhere! I'm sure you'll go for Gidget, too!' - Dick Clark"; "She's the sweetheart of the beach generation!"; "Based on the novel by Frederick Kohner") starring Sandra Dee (in the title role as Gidget), Cliff Robertson (as The Big Kahuna), James Darren (as Moondoggie), Arthur O'Connell, Mary LaRoche, Jo Morrow, and The Four Preps

Important Added Info: Note that this script is the second estimating draft from May 15, 1958 and the screenplay was written by Gabrielle Upton. Included with the script are five undated revision pages that have been paper clipped together, and also a 6-page shooting schedule which has been stapled together. Finally, included are two single pages that have Cliff Robertson's name printed at the top. One has a paragraph handwritten about the "opening scene" talking about what Cliff Robertson's character must do in the scene. The other has handwriting on both sides which copies the paragraph from the other page and continues onto the reverse and includes dialog between Robertson's character and Sandra Dee's character (see our images). We have no idea if the writing on these sheets was by Cliff Robertson himself (taking notes about his character), but it certainly seems quite reasonable.

Condition: good. There is much water staining down the left edge of the cover and across the bottom, and there is similar water staining on parts of the back cover. The title page and the next 33 pages have slight water stains in the bottom of each page, varying from page to page, and there are a few tiny water stains in the edge of some of the other pages, but none of the pages are stuck together, and otherwise, the rest of the script is in pretty nice condition. See our multiple images to get a good sense of the exact condition of this script.
