A Vintage Softcover Coloring Book (measures 10 3/4" x 15 1/4" [27 x 39 cm]; 14 pages) (Learn More) Flip the Frog is an animated cartoon character created by animator Ub Iwerks (who was the genius behind the artwork for most of the early Mickey Mouse cartoons). He starred in a series of cartoons produced by Celebrity Pictures and distributed through Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer from 1930 to 1933. After the first two cartoons, the appearance of Flip the Frog gradually became less frog-like at the request of distributor MGM, and by 1932 he barely resembled a frog. Unfortunately, the character was not successful, and after all of Iwerks' other creations did not succeed, he had to go back to Disney, on Walt Disney's terms. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this really cool coloring book featuring Ub Iwerks' creation after he left Walt Disney! Note that we have pictured the front cover, and three interior 2-page spreads. Condition: good. Some unknown child colored in part of a number of the pages, but they did a pretty nice job.
