An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) The Doorway to Hell, the 1930 Archie Mayo anti-Prohibition gangster crime thriller ("Based on the story by Rowland Brown") starring Lew Ayres (billed as "Lewis Ayres"; in his fourth credited movie role!), Dorothy Mathews, Leon Janney, Robert Elliott, James Cagney, Dwight Frye, and Charles Judels (apparently he had a major role, but his scenes were deleted prior to the movie's release). Note that this was James Cagney's second movie. In his first, "Sinner's Holiday", he had a relatively minor role, but was noticed, and was given a larger part in this early gangster movie. Just two movies later, he was given the starring role in "Public Enemy", and the rest, as they say, "is history"! Movie paper of any kind from his pre-Public Enemy movies is extremely rare, and, to the best of my knowledge, Cagney is not pictured on any of the posters from "Doorway to Hell"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: fine. other than a single pinhole in the top left corner, this lobby card is in remarkable condition! Learn More about condition grades
