An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Deluxe 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Marilyn Monroe is one of the greatest larger-than-life movie stars ever of the 1950s, and surely the greatest sex symbol of all time! She appeared in several memorable movies including: Some Like It Hot, The Prince & the Showgirl, All About Eve, The Asphalt Jungle, The Misfits, The Seven Year Itch, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Monkey Business, and Niagara. The last film that she worked on was Something's Got To Give in 1962. 20th Century Fox blamed Marilyn for the production being behind schedule, and fired her in June (the film was never completed). In August, she was found dead in her home from an apparent drug overdose, and her death was ruled a suicide (though there are theories that foul play was involved, and even in 2024, many people do not feel it was an "accidental" death). Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Marilyn Monroe! Also note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. IMPORTANT! We have shown this still to an expert and he believes it to be a secretarial signed autograph, so please do not bid on it thinking it was hand signed by Marilyn Monroe herself! Also note that this autographed 8x10 is one of a large collection that was consigned to us by a former theater owner, who in the 1950s, began requesting the studios to have them send him stills signed by the stars of movies he had recently shown at his theater when he was holding a special event or having the anniversary of his theater's opening! Over the next decade, he collected 91 signed stills that were sent to him by the studios through the mail, and we know for certain that he received these stills directly from the studios, but we can't say for certain if the stills were signed by the stars or if they were signed by secretaries. But since he owned a major theater, and since many of the stills were personalized to him (or to his theater), we would think it likely that the autograph on this still is authentic, but we suggest that anyone bidding on this still compare it to other examples of the star's signature, so they can best determine if the signature is from that star. Condition: very good. There are some faint smudges around the edges of the still and some tiny creases and tiny tear in the left of the top blank border. Learn More about condition grades
