An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Australian Daybill Movie Poster (db; measures 13 1/4" x 30" [34 x 76 cm]) (Learn More) Le Salaire de La Peur (released in the U.S. in 1955 as "H.G. Clouzot's Wages of Fear"), the classic 1953 Henri-Georges Clouzot French/Italian action adventure thriller melodrama ("Great Thriller"; "You sit there waiting for the theatre to explode!"; "A new shattering entertainment experience!"; about four men who are expatriates living in South America, driving trucks of nitroglycerine over narrow high mountain roads) starring Yves Montand, Charles Vanel, Peter van Eyck, Vera Clouzot (wife of director Henri-Georges Clouzot; in her first movie!), Folco Lulli, Antonio Centa, and William Tubbs. Note that director William Friedkin re-made this movie in 1977 as "Sorcerer" (it was his first movie after "The Exorcist"). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this daybill was used by The Orpheum theater in Sydney, Australia that originally opened in 1935! The theater featured art deco design, two levels and seating for 1735. The theater was sold in the 1970s and converted into a shopping center. Luckily, in 1986, it was lovingly restored and re-opened as the Hayden Orpheum! Condition: good. There is a theater snipe glued across the bottom of the poster (the snipe could surely be removed by a professional restorer, or talented amateur, if one chose to do so). There is some creasing throughout the poster and there is a small amount of tattering and tearing around the edges. Learn More about condition grades
