An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More)

Riders of the Cactus, the 1931 David Kirkland cowboy western ("An all-talking action western!"; "Story by Capt. Charles T. Connell") starring Wally Wales, Buzz Barton, Lorraine LaVal, Fred Church, and Ed Cartwright. Note that Wally Wales started out as a wrangler on cowboy movies in the mid 1910s, and then became a star in B-westerns in the mid 1920s. His career started downhill in the middle 1930s, and he (perhaps to save face) started taking much smaller parts under the name "Hal Taliaferro" (he had been born "Floyd Taliaferro Alderson"). He continued appearing in many minor roles until the mid 1950s when he retired.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this three-sheet! Not only that, but we have only ever previously auctioned five scene lobby cards from this movie and no other movie paper!

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny bits of paper loss scattered in the top horizontal fold (which ran across the middle of the word "RIDERS"). It had some small paper loss at just a few crossfolds and pretty minor wear on the other folds. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
