A Set of 4 Original Vintage Folded World War II Posters (each measures 28 1/2" x 40" [72 x 102 cm]) (Learn More)

The Four Freedoms is a series of four oil paintings ("Save Freedom of Speech", "Save Freedom of Worship", "Freedom from Want", and "Freedom from Fear") made in 1943 by artist Norman Rockwell. The four freedoms refer to President Franklin D. Roosevelt's 1941 State of the Union address, in which he identified essential human rights that should be universally protected. The paintings were reproduced in The Saturday Evening Post, were used for World War II (WWII) war bond posters, and were the highlight of a touring exhibition sponsored by The Post and the U.S. Department of the Treasury. They were issued in several different sizes in 1943, and they are sometimes sold as sets of four, but much more often sold as individual posters.

Artist: Norman Rockwell
Important Added Info: Note that this is a complete set of all four of these classic Norman Rockwell posters, referred to as "The Four Freedoms". As noted above, they were created in three sizes, and the this "middle" size is far more rare and desirable than the smaller size (the larger size is also quite rare, but many collectors prefer this size, because it is more "frame-able", since it is close to a one-sheet size and fits on most walls. I certainly hope that the purchaser of this great historic set displays them! Also note that these posters were folded at one time but have been laying flat for a long time and they will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: very good to fine. The posters were folded as they were when they were first issued. There is very minor fold and border wear (see our images).
