An Original Vintage Oversized Still (measures 16" x 20" [41 x 51 cm]). Also included is a New York Times clipping that measures 15" x 22". (Learn More)

Judith Crist was a film critic and academic from the 1940s to the 1990s. She was one of the first full-time female critics for a major American newspaper, and also appeared in TV Guide and on the Today show AND Willis Reed is a retired professional NBA basketball player from 1964 to 1974, playing for the New York Knicks as center and power forward. He later went on to be a coach after his retirement. He was a two time NBA Champion, and the 1970 NBA MVP, accruing over 12,000 points in his career!
Important Added Info: Note that this very oversized still, which measures 16" x 20" [41 x 51 cm], was printed in 1970, for an ad for Sterling Manhattan Cable Television, pretty much the first cable TV channel. It had started in 1965 in New York City, and was a gigantic money loser for years. But in 1971, a year after this ad appeared, they became Home Box Office (HBO), which of course became the leader of cable TV channels for many years! This ad was for when Sterling Manhattan Cable Television was showing both New York Knicks basketball games, and also classic foreign films, and someone at the company thought it would be wonderful to have Willis Reed (the star of the Knicks) and Judith Crist (one of the best known movie critics) pose together for this ad! Included in this auction is both the 16" x 20" still from 1970 and also the page from the New York Times that shows the ad that pictured the still.

Condition: good to very good. The still has smudges, creases, and some ripples around the edges. The newspaper page has darkened and has tears and paper loss around the edges (see our images).
