An Original Vintage Theatrical Mexican Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 15 3/4" x 22 3/4" [40 x 58 cm]) (Learn More) the circa 1970s Mexican triple-bill of the international release of Superman Flies Again, the 1954 George Blair & Thomas Carr compilation of 3 episodes of "The Adventures of Superman" TV comic book superhero fantasy series ("Jet Ace"; "Dog Who Knew Superman"; "Clown Who Cried") starring George Reeves (in the title role as Superman/Clark Kent), Noel Neill (as Lois Lane), Jack Larson (as Jimmy Olsen), John Hamilton (as Perry White), and Robert Shayne (as Inspector Henderson). Note that this was one of five compilation movies created out of episodes of this classic TV series. They were apparently solely shown outside the U.S. (which makes sense, since the episodes had been shown on TV in the U.S.), and we know that it is likely that one-sheets and lobby card sets were created for all five compilation features, but one-sheets from them are quite rare, and lobby cards are even more rare (which also makes sense, since lobby cards would have been far less likely to have been used in other countries). The other four titles were Superman and the Jungle Devil, Superman's Peril, Superman in Exile, and Superman in Scotland Yard. The only reason we know so much about these titles is because a pressbook was created for all five features, and we once auctioned it, and it sold for $412! AND Superman and the Mole Men (released in England as "Superman and the Strange People"), the 1951 Lee Sholem comic book superhero science fiction (sci-fi) subterranean aliens fantasy thriller ("The All-Time ACE OF ACTION!"; "...in his first Full-Length Feature Adventure!") starring George Reeves (in the title role as Superman/Clark Kent), Phyllis Coates (as Lois Lane), Jeff Corey, Walter Reed, J. Farrell MacDonald, and Stanley Andrews. Note that this movie was released theatrically. After it proved very successful, George Reeves was hired for the "The Adventures of Superman" TV series along with Phyllis Coates (who left the series after the 1st season and was replaced with Noel Neill, who portrayed Lois in the first 2 Superman serials). Also, this movie was shown as a special two-part episode of the show! AND the international theatrical release of Superman and the Jungle Devil, the 1954 compilation of 3 episodes of "The Adventures of Superman" TV comic book superhero fantasy series starring George Reeves (in the title role as Superman/Clark Kent), Noel Neill (as Lois Lane), Jack Larson (as Jimmy Olsen), John Hamilton (as Perry White), and Sterling Holloway. Important Added Info: Note that this very large Mexican lobby card is printed on a heavy paper stock (similar to that of U.S. window cards of the 1940s) measures 15 3/4" x 22 3/4" [40 x 58 cm]. We have never seen this before, but we suspect that it may be from the late 1970s, maybe at the time of the Superman movie in 1978, designed to cash in on the renewed interest in Superman at that time! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
